Key Points of Transportation Technology Strategy Layout in the U.S. from 2022 to 2026 and Its Inspiration for China

In order to better plan the strategic layout of China′s transportation technology during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, a comparative analysis method was used to study the strategic objectives, priority themes and research content of Research, Development, and Technology Strategic Plan 2022-2026 of U.S. DOT. The key changes in the strategic objectives and priority themes of this version of the strategic plan were analyzed. Based on this, combined with the current situation and trends of China′s transportation technology strategic layout, some suggestions have been put forward to strengthen the strategic layout of transportation technology in China. The study suggested that China′s transportation technology strategic layout should adapt to the new changes in the international and domestic situation, further strengthen the layout in the fields of big data technology, social science research, supply chain security, traffic equity, infrastructure resilience improvement, and three-dimensional interconnected transportation support technology, so as to further enhance China′s global competitiveness in transportation.
