Experience of Transportation Low-Carbon Development in Some Developed Countries and Regions and Its Inspiration for China

Against the backdrop of severe global climate change, achieving the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality has become a consensus to mitigate climate change. The transportation sector is one of the important areas of carbon emissions. Therefore, promoting the low-carbon development of transportation sector is the key to China's realization of the Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals. Given this, this paper analyzed the characteristics and laws of carbon emissions in the transportation sector in developed countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, and the European Union, sorted out their measures and experience in promoting transportation low-carbon development, and proposed suggestions for the low-carbon development of China's transportation sector: strengthening low-carbon technology innovate policy guidance, building an intensive transportation development model, continuing to promote transportation structure adjustment, and promoting sustainable transportation development through transportation digital transformation.
