Road Transportation Monitoring System Based on Transportation Management Information Platform: A Case Study of Jiangsu

Abstract

In order to meet the requirements of high-quality transportation development and building china into a country with strong transportation network, combining with the development of road transportation information management and monitoring services in China, especially in Jiangsu Province, an monitoring system with 3 comprehensive indexes including road freight development index, road passenger transport development index and road transport contribution, which had 11 first-level indexes such as road transport development scale, transport efficiency, green ecology, service level, etc., were established. And the source and release cycle of index data were explained. Then, based on the index calculation method and Analytic Hierarchy Process, the calculation process of monitoring index system was designed, and the freight efficiency index of Jiangsu Province was selected as the evaluation case. The results show that the freight efficiency index shows a growth trend in August and September, 2019. And dangerous cargo efficiency index shows an upward trend, affected by the development trend of miniaturization of vehicles; truck-load and container transportation efficiency index show a downward trend, affected by the market. The trend of the freight efficiency index is consistent with the changes in the freight market and the adjustment of freight structure, which indicates that the designed monitoring system and index calculation method can be applied to monitor the road transportation industry.
